How strong is Hellboy as a character?

Hellboy is known for being much stronger than a normal human. In terms of strength he has been known to rip out trees and hurl them at opponents. He has also been able toss enemies weighing as much as 500 pounds. His strength is also reflected in his durability. He has been shown to be able to withstand both high and low temperature extremes and has taken many bullets to the chest. He is especially resistant to high temperature regimes which makes sense considering his origin. He has been savagely beaten by monsters and been speared through the chest and has still was able to heal.

His Right Hand of Doom makes him even stronger, but even without it, he is one of the strongest characters in his comic book universe. He does use guns occasionally, but he prefers hand to hand combat because of his great strength and stamina.
