Insulin is produced in the body, but sometimes people will need more insulin. It helps control your metabolism, fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. Insulin also regulates your glucose levels which are your blood sugar levels. Insulin will be secreted when your blood sugar levels get too low. Diabetics are known for monitoring their glucose levels and using insulin because they need to regulate theirs on a daily basis.
