I do believe that Jeff has placed a lot of faith in Amazon when it was just starting out but he is brilliant too. He knows that not all companies will be able to withstand the test of time. There are a lot of companies that were great before but because of the changing times, the company failed.

Perhaps Bezos believes that technology is going to be different in the future and he is not sure if the company would be able to keep up. I agree with him that perhaps Amazon is not indestructible but a lot of people who have lived while it is still one of the most popular companies available will always remember the company in a positive way.

Amazon’s CEO has talked about it's fall. Surprisingly, Jeff Bezos has talked about the demise of Amazon saying that it is inevitable. He believes that all the major companies only live for about 30+ years and that amazon is not too big to fail. This is one of the major reasons why amazon is obsessed with its customers than with its employees as this is how Jeff plans to delay the demise of his almost 30 year old company.

It is quite hard to imagine amazon falling to the ground as it is now worth about $3 trillion. And also with the fact that it is extremely focused on it's customers. But the market is not always going to stick with one company. It could end up going to newer companies as they will in some level have newer things to offer compared to the older companies.

If the CEO or president of a company is doing a good job and so are his employees, then the first person to know when a decline is about to happen would be the CEO or president. They have access to all of the reports and trends for their company. So, Jeff Bezos most likely was right when he predicted Amazon’s decline.

However, nobody predicted the recession and so it is doubtful that Jeff Bezos predicted either. Even if he did, then it is unlikely he could have done anything about it. Now, with Amazon on the slight decline, he probably knew that Amazon would eventually be on the decline due to newer companies coming. He has also predicted that Amazon will eventually go bankrupt.
