You can legally live in Antarctica if you think you can cope with its temperature. Antarctica usually experiences an annual temperature that ranges from -10°C to -60°C. By implication, it means Antarctica is simply the coldest continent on the planet earth. Thousands of people are actually living in Antarctica, but 90 percent of those people are there purposely because of scientific and research works. There are a few numbers of research centers or bases in Antarctica.

However, the fact that you can live in Antarctica does not mean you can stay forever, as you might no longer find it interesting, especially when you have a temperature of -60°C. Also, before you can live legally in Antarctica, you should know that there are some places you won't be permitted to stay. This is because those places or territories belong to some countries. As a matter of fact, you can't visit those places if you don't have permission.

Yes, you can live in Antarctica but only for a short period of time. As you may know, Antarctica is the only continent without permanent residents.

Antarctica is located on the southern pole of the earth. The weather is not conducive for living all year run.

People only go to Antarctica during the summer. Most often, scientists are the ones that stay in Antarctica.

If you want to live in Antarctica, you have to prepare way ahead of time.
There are no cities, no transport systems, no permanent residents, no health care facilities, no educational system, and industries.

If you want to live here, you have to travel with everything you will need except water.

The answer is yes, briefly. The only residents are scientists and they normally only stay for the summer. No-one lives in Antarctica for good like people do in the rest of the world. It has no commercial industries, no towns or cities, no permanent residents and in winter there is no trasport or possibility of transport.

It's an uncomfortable place and would only suit you if you are going there to research. We are not counting tourists, whos stay if obviously pretty short. I suppose if you are a criminal it is a good place to go to hide but you wouldn't survive long, would you. However, Lockheed do employ support staff, such as cooks, for their research stations and you can apply.
