Simply put, the Turing Test is a test that explores the differences between humans and machines. This test is used primarily on AI (Artificial Intelligence) to determine at what point are robots and machines displaying traits which are indistiguishable from humans. The Turing Test, previously called The Imitation Game, was actually a paper written in 1951 by Alan Turing, which first presented a way to test if a robot can think like a human.

Turing was a mathmetician from England. Even though there are not currently any machines capable of thinking quite like humans can, there have been a couple robots which come close and some say they can actually pass the Turing Test.
