Ravioli can not just be considered a pasta, it is a pasta, what else? Since it is made from eggs flour and water with a little oil, the ingredients for any and all pasta types you just cannot categorise it in any other food sort.

The staples we use are bread, pasta, pastry to hold our meat and vegetable ingredients in a manageable-to-eat form. Ravioli is a dough with fillings inside it, just as a sandwich is bread with fillings spread onto it.
