Yes, Elephants are born blind. The newborn depend on their parents and other female Elephants to move around, they also depend on their trunks to move from one place to another. The mothers are always protective, they do all they can to protect the youngElephants from harm.

Even as adult, Elephants have small eyes and they are color blind. Their retina has two cons, red and green. Unlike humans that have trichromic vision (red, blue and green), Elephants have dichromic vision. They use their trunk to direct their movements most times.
