African Elephant are helpful in the environment in the following ways:
Elephant droppings are used as fertilizer to improve the soil for agricultural purposes. The dung of Elephants contains about 50% of undigested food, animals like baboons, monkeys, insects, vervets feed on the dung of Elephants.

African Elephant disperse seeds which then grow into plants. This helps to replace trees and plants that have been consumed or cut down. For this reason, African Elephants in the forest are known as 'Gardners'.
They also dig holes in dry places to source for water, other animals take advantage of the waterholes. African Elephant pull down trees needed by humans for many purposes.
