It would depend on the situation. There are some people who actually try to learn this trait because they know that it can make them more successful. It will help them become more successful with work and it will teach them to become more successful at climbing up the career ladder which may be something that they wish to do.

Having this trait only becomes a negative when you start to not care about how others would feel when you begin to manipulate them and they find out. It can also be a negative when you need to show some emotions but cannot because you do not have the proper brain function to feel more emotions than before.
