Jackson was diagnosed with vitiligo in 1984. Vitiligo is a condition which results in white patches on the skin. He also had lupus. Both conditions made his skin sensitive to the sunlight. Jackson has said that he has had only two rhinoplasties. He also said he had a dimple created in his chin. Michael had his first reconstructive surgery in 1979 when he was practicing a spin, and he fell on his face, and he broke his nose.

He had to have it fixed, and in the process, he requested it also be made a bit smaller. It was also rumored that Michael had a cleft put in his chin. He had another plastic surgery done on his nose in the 1980's.
