A vasectomy is a surgical procedure that stops the male organs from producing sperm. During the procedure the doctor will cut part of the bodily organ on the man and either seal it off or tie it off so that the sperm can’t move to the penis. Many men get vasectomies in order to prevent pregnancies with their partners. Men will get a vasectomy if their families are large and they do not want any more children.

Sometimes, women will prefer for their husbands to get this procedure instead of them getting a hysterectomy because the vasectomy is less risky. The cons include that this is a permanent procedure and is very difficult to reverse the process in case someone changes their mind.
