True. Resistance by the wax in preventing it from getting to the fabric

there is a resistance by wax to prevent it getting to the fabric the elastic bands stop it from getting to the fabric

Wax is used to resist the dye(stop it getting to the fabric) in Batik and string or elastic bands stop the dye getting to the fabric in Tie dye. Adire Eleko is also a resist technique.
