Remembering metric conversions can be tough. Going up and down the unit table can muddle the best of people. If you want to memorize the metric conversions fast, you can try this mnemonic: King Henry Doesn’t Usually Drink Chocolate Milk.

Now the first letter of each word represents Kilo, Hecto, Deca, Unit, Deci, Centi, Milli. The unit is the central part. Those on the left are larger in terms of powers of ten and those on the right are smaller in terms of powers of ten. Therefore, Kilo is 1000 times more and deci is 100 times more. While, milli is 1000 times less and centi is 100 times less.
