Afghanistan is in South East Asia, so it is in the same massive continent as Russia, Pakistan, and China. The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is land-locked; that is, it has no coastline and is a long way from any sea. It likes between Pakistan and Iran, so is in a troublesome position! Its population is around 36 million, which is low in comparison with the little country of England, for instance.

However, bear in mind the vast expanses of the inhospitable desert as well as the Hindu Kush mountain range, which experiences frigid winters. The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has many beautiful mosques, and its plains are fertile.
