I love 80's music. The 1980's saw the dawn of dance music and new wave. The 1980's are commonly remembered for an increase in the use of digital recording, associated with the use of the synthesizer. Synth-pop music and other electronic genres featured non-traditional instruments. The 80's is also the decade that foreshadowed the golden age of hip-hop. MTV was a video music channel.
Artists like Madonna and Michael Jackson had a lot of excellent music in this decade, and MTV would play their music in heavy rotation. Some of their best videos were Madonna's "Lucky Star," "Material Girl," and "Like a Prayer," and Michael Jackson's iconic "Thriller." Pop music was in it's prime in the 80's. Music was fun and innovative.
