Chemical peels can be used on the face, neck, or hands. They can reduce fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth. Chemical peels treat wrinkles caused by sun damage and aging. There are several types of chemicals peels, which include Alpha hydroxy acid peels, beta hydroxy acid peels, retinoic acid peel, phenol-croton oil peel.

Chemical peels are used to eliminate the outermost layers of the skin. They are also used to treat wrinkles. The glycolic peel has the tiniest molecular size which penetrates the deepest levels — lactic peel derived from milk. The Beta peel is used specifically to treat acne. The Pigment Balancing Peel is intended to lighten the pigment of the skin.

A chemical peel removes the outer layers of facial skin in order to reduce the appearance of blemishes, uneven skin pigmentation, and wrinkles. Most chemical peels use a combination of phenol, trichloroacetic acid, and alphahydroxy acids and require days of recovery. Light peels use only the less intense, alphahydroxy acids.
