A time frame. The nurse must consider four major components in writing outcome criteria: the content area, an action verb, a time frame, and criterion modifiers. Including a time frame (a target date for completion of the expected outcome criterion) helps the nurse evaluate the clients progress. Aplace, a family member, and a focal point arent components of an outcome criterion.
