Why are probability samples advantageous to the researchers?

As researchers gather information, they may have to conduct a study. In this study, they have to gather a sample of something in order to analyze the information from that sample. For example, it could be that a survey needs to be conducted by a group of people and these people need to answer some questions about the study’s topic.

However, if the researcher’s study involved a population of teenagers, the researcher could not ask every teenager. Instead, the researcher would have to ask a sample of the population. So, if the researcher uses a sample, the probability that it is random would be great. Then this method would limit conscious and unconscious sampling bias. It would also be accurate and represent the population.
