Cautions represent failures leading to a loss of redundancy or system degradation. Cautions do not generate an audio alert or a master cast light. ECAM does not identify all emergencies. Some emergencies not recognized by the ECAM include Air Conditioning, Smoke, Cabin Smoke, Fire, Emergency Landing, Ditching Passenger Evacuation.
ECAM must always be performed initially from start to finish. The crew should always keep in mind that there are both pros and cons of the ECAM. The ECAM is complete when no messages are displayed on the E/WD.
