The Bible mentions discipline in several areas. In Proverbs 19:18, it states that parents should discipline their son “for there is hope”. In Ephesians 6:4 and Revelation 3:19, it was stated that parents should bring their children so that they could know what is right from what is wrong. In Proverbs 13:24, the Bible states that discipline is a way of showing your love towards your own children. In Hebrews 12:11, it was stated that even though disciplining your children seems “painful rather than pleasant” on both sides, it is still needed because it will all be worth it in the end. And in Proverbs 12:1, it was stated that “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.” This means that discipline will help us understand the things that we cannot change and will give us the correct perspective in life when things don’t go our way.
