Hernia is condition which occurs when a fatty tissue or an organ squashes through a weak spot in the connective tissue which is called fascia. There are several types of hernia such as the following: Inguinal hernia which happens when the bladder or intestine bulges through the abdominal wall or into the inguinal canal in the groin area.

This type of hernia commonly occurs in men because men have a natural weakness in this specific area. Incisional hernia which is when the intestine protrudes through the abdominal wall on or near the area where surgery took place. This commonly occurs in overweight people or in elderly who became inactive after an abdominal surgery. Femoral hernia which is when the intestine enters the canal where fermoral artery is located. This kind of hernia is commonly found in women especially those who are overweight or pregnant.
