It wasn’t until Bill was 15 years old did he adopt his stepfather’s surname as a nice gesture toward his then stepfather. He also became the 40th and 42nd Governor of Arkansas from January 09, 1979 to January 19, 1981 and from January 11, 1983 to December 12, 1992, respectively. He became the 42nd President of the United States from January 20, 1993 to January 20, 2001.
