What herb keeps spiders away?

Spiders are a common problem in homes. These creatures creep into homes through open doors, windows and small spaces where flooring may not reach the wall. Keeping a can of bug spray may be helpful. However, spraying large foamy amount of the bug spray at the spider may actually kill this spider, but it would also leave behind the chemicals that are in the bug spray. These chemicals may harm pets or children if ingested.

There are herbs that can keep spiders away. Lavender has a strong scent which deters ants and other smaller insects. Since these insects are away from the house, the spiders will go in search of them since they are a part of their diets. Rosemary and catnip also deter spiders.
