Fruit snacks are processed food which are eaten as snacks by children and adults, alike. Some people may be tempted to buy fruit snacks and eat these because it’s convenient and just enough to satisfy our cravings.

However, it is worthy to note that most fruit snacks are present with Red3 food coloring – this food coloring is also known as E127 or Erythorosine. What does it mean? It just means that fruit snacks are filled with petroleum which can pose a serious health threat. According to several researches, a food with petroleum present on it can cause obesity, asthma, diabetes, allergic reactions, hypoglycemia, chromosomal damage, organ damage, birth defects, hyperactivity, and CANCER. The Red 3 food coloring present in fruit snacks was already banned by the United States because it causes thyroid tumors.
