Kidney stones can be a very painful thing to deal with for any person. Kidney stones are formed when there are too many crystal causing substances in the urine. These substances include calcium, oxalate, and uric acid. Sometimes people are able to pass kidney stones on their own but sometimes they have to take medicines that break them apart so that they can be more easily passed.

Some foods and drinks to watch out for that are known to cause kidney stones are beets, chocolate, spinach, rhubarb, tea, most nuts, and colas. If you learn to stay away from these foods and drink plenty of water kidney stones may be a painful problem that you can avoid.
