On average, the price of food and drink in Greece is about the same as that in America. However, in certain cities, it is higher than in America. Take Athens, for example. The average person in Athens will pay around $3.80 for a dozen eggs.
In America, the most people pay is about $1.50 for brown eggs, and $1 for white eggs. The price of eggs is about three times higher in Athens. However, the cost of a meal at McDonald’s is about the same: about $7. A small bottle of water in the United States runs about $1, but half that in Athens. It’s the other way around for sodas and soft drinks; they’re more expensive in Athens by about $0.30.
