The children were relied upon to move on from secondary school begin working and gain a job or work in the family's field.Young ladies were required to wed in their 20's or younger and to become moms and house wives. They could only have jobs on the off chance that they didn't meddle with the womanly obligations. Young men were required to work and to accommodate their families. Beatings and other flogging was regular and was permitted.

Ill-conceived kids were shameful, and divorces were severely frowned upon. Being gay or lesbian was not accepted and was a thing to be hidden. The offspring of the 60s were the first to see war very close and to get the points of interest of sex, shake and roll, and break free from the tradional roles.
