Few fast foods are healthy. To provide yourself with a healthy meal while travelling or when unable to get home or to a proper restaurant for your meal, means a little forethought and planning. You could go to any supermarket and get a sandwich, wrap or roll. To be healthy, this must be chosen carefully.
Avoid sauces, mayonnaise and pickle. Chicken breast, turkey or ham with salad and no mayo or pickle is a good choice. Add a piece of fresh fruit, a bottle of water or milk, not a soft drink. No crisps or sweets or candy, but you can have a low fat cereal bar with nuts and raisins, not chocolate.
Fast food cheap, filling, convenient, and a delicious option that often comes with a side of guilt. One in every four Americans eats fast food at least once a day. Unfortunately, many fast food meals contain a whole day’s worth of calories and fat. Take a Double Whopper Sandwich Meal from Burger King for example: It'll set you back 1430 calories and 72g fat.
In comparison to other fast food joints, subway is a healthy option. The Six-inch Turkey Breast Sandwich on nine-grain wheat bread in Subway is a good option. This is the best food-on-the run solution (and I'm often on the run!) because it's got all you need: protein, fresh veggies, and carbs, for 360 calories. Plus, it's very satisfying, and who doesn't love a good sub?
