Posterior (hamstring) -the deep femoral artery supplies the posterior compartment of the thigh with three to four perforating arteries. these arteries pierce adductor magnus and supply blood to the hamstrings-biceps femoris, semitendinosus, and semimembranosus. the anterior compartment of the thigh (the quadriceps) receives blood from the femoral artery. the medial compartment of the thigh receives blood from the obturator artery and medial circumflex femoral artery, as well as the deep femoral. the gluteal region receives blood from the superior and inferior gluteal arteries
