False-once women were admitted as active members in alpha phi omega, it was only a matter of time before they advanced into national leadership positions. in 1981, kay hairgrove (now krenek), beta sigma 79, was appointed to the position of national publications committee chair by president c.p. zlatkovich, alpha rho 64, and in 1986, she was elected to the board of directors and served as national service chair. since then, more than 20 other women have been elected to positions on the board, including the fraternitys first female national president, brother maggie katz, gamma pi 80, who served as president from 2006 to 2010. - p. 16
