Scabies is an itchy rash that can be spread through contact. Most of the time people will recognize scabies through the symptoms in a few weeks of making contact with an infected person or thing. The bumpy rash may be seen on various parts of the body including the limbs and around the midsection of the body. Mites are the main cause of scabies.

To get rid of scabies, you need to be prescribed medication. Alcohol does not seem to kill scabies. A cream or lotion that is created for the specific purpose of ridding people of scabies should be applied to the skin. Similar to lice or other contagious diseases, it is highly recommended to clean all of your clothes, house and belongings to rid the disease from your environment.
