Ginger ale is a carbonated soft drink that come in one of two ways: the golden style and the dry style. The dry style has more of a pale color and is made with less ginger that the golden style ginger ale.
Ginger ale was invented in 1851 by Thomas Cantrell and very quickly increased in popularity in its home of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Ginger ale is commonly used in households to aid in the alleviation of indigestion or motion sickness as well as soothe coughs and sore throats.
