While food allergies can be either mild or life threatening, fever is not a symptom that is commonly present. The common symptoms present with a food allergy include:

• Hives, itching or eczema
• Abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting or nausea
• Swelling of the lips, face tongue and throat
• Tingling or itching in the mouth
• Dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting
• Wheezing, nasal congestion or trouble breathing
The most severe type of reaction to a food allergy is called anaphylaxis shock. Anaphylaxis shock can cause life threatening signs and symptoms like:
• Tightening and constriction of the airway
• Shock with a drop in blood pressure
• Rapid pulse
• Dizziness or loss of consciousness
• Swollen throat or the difficulty to breathe
