Chris Van Allsburg is a writer and illustrator. This means that he wrote and drew the pictures for his children’s books. Allsburg is from America and he was born in 1949. During his career, Van Allsburg won a couple of top awards for his books, “Polar Express” and “Jumanji.” He wrote the book “Jumanji” in 1981. A few years later, these books became movies and they were quite successful.
The book actually won the Hans Christian Andersen Award. Van Allsburg also won an honorary degree from the University of Michigan in 2012. It was for the Doctor of Humane Letters. “Jumanji” is about a couple of children who play a game where it comes to life. The animals begin to roam and it becomes dangerous.
