The person who wrote the book entitled Sex and the City is Candace Bushnell. She was born on December 01, 1958 in Glastonbury, Connecticut, and some of her works include the following: Sex and the City published in 1996, 4 Blondes published in 2000, Trading Up published in 2003, Lipstick Jungle published in 2005, One Fifth Avenue published in 2008, The Carrie Diaries published in 2010, Summer and the City published in 2011, and Killing Monica published in 2015.

Sex and the City was published on August 01, 1997 and covered the story of four friends and their different lifestyles. The book was adapted into an American television series which ran from June 06, 1998 to February 22, 2004 and starred Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones, Kristin Davis as Charlotte York Goldenblatt, and Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, to name a few.
