Deaf Child Crossing is a children's book authored by Marlee Matlin. In the book the main character Megan gets really excited when Cindy moves into her neighborhood. She is happy to see a girl around her age that she might be able to be friends with. Her excitement is not for naught, Cindy and Megan quickly become best friends.
At the end of the book the last word in the book that Megan finger spells to Cindy is BFF standing for Best Friends Forever. This is a testament to the importance of their friendsip and to the impact that it has on Megan as well as Cindy.
