Eid is a prayer performed during a special occasion. This prayer comes only once a year, making the structure and use confusing to those who participate in the congregational prayer. The Eid prayer consists of two units. The main difference between the way the Eid and any other prayer is performed is the number of Takbeers that are used.
There are two rakas when performing the Eid salah. The first raka consists of 7 takbeers while the second consists of 5. A takbeer is the Arabic phrase Allahu akbar which translates to “God is the greatest” and is recited multiple times in their religious prayers.
