The idea came to him in a dream. Edgar Allen Poe is the writer of one of the most famous poems ever, called The Raven. This poem is famous because it is included in many English curricula during middle and high school.

The Raven is considered a narrative poem, and it was published in January of 1845. The poem tells the story of a man who is having a hard time dealing with the death of his lover. Over the years, there have been many adaptations of the poem, including movies, and the football team Baltimore Ravens is named after the poem.
