The blue whale is the largest sea mammal. It has reached a record weight of 173 tons, and can reach up to 98 feet long in adulthood. For such a large animal, it actually has a fairly simple diet. It eats mainly krill. Krill is a small shrimp-like animal that is found in the ocean, and can give the blue whale - and most other whales - a lot of what it needs.

This is mainly because it is what’s known as a baleen whale; they have something called baleen that is meant to help filter water and get the krill from the water since they are incredibly small creatures. The blue whale is also considered to be a threatened species. They are a popular species for whaling, a practice that has died down.
