In Japan, the citizens there come in contact with several natural disasters. Unfortunately, Japan is an island that is subjected to the natural disasters that are involved with oceans. Hurricanes and tsunamis have occurred in the recent past. Also, it was believed that the tsunamis occurred because of an earthquake taking place first. The earthquake then triggers the tsunami from the ocean.

Other natural disasters are typhoons during certain seasons. Another natural disaster that is unrelated to water is volcanic eruptions. Due to Japan’s location, they are exposed to volcanic eruptions which can also be triggered by earthquakes. One natural disaster that does not occur is droughts. Due to their rainy season and being an island, they rarely have a shortage of water.
