Most countries are measured to be strong or weak based on their economies. Their gross domestic product and amount of exported products is analyzed. However, countries can develop socially. Literacy is the reading and writing ability by people. Most countries require their citizens to obtain an education through years of schooling as a child. Literacy rates vary from country to country.

However, primarily North American has strong literacy rates with average rates in some of the countries located in Central America. Africa is the most diverse with their countries ranging from high literacy rates to the very lowest. Niger has the lowest literacy rates with under 15 people being considered literate per 100 people. Australia and Ethiopia have a high literacy rate.
