Since Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world, K2 is the second highest mountain in the world. It is also considered to be savage because it is so difficult to climb. This mountain is less known than many others so it seems unusual that this mountain is one of the highest mountains in the world.

It is also called Mount Godwin-Austen and Chlogori. It is over 28,000 feet tall. However, when compared to other mountains in regards to how famous and important it is, it doesn’t even rank in the top ten. Unfortunately, about 25% of those who attempt to hike to the summit dies. A few hundred have made it successfully to the summit. It is located on the border of the countries of China and Pakistan.
