The Republic of Sierra Leone is a country is western Africa that borders the Atlantic Ocean. The population of the country is growing due to a large portion of its population being young. Many languages are spoken in Sierra Leone, but English is the country’s official language. Also, the local language is spoken throughout Sierra Leone. This is called Krio.
It is a language made up of the English language and other languages from this region. Since the citizens of this country trades with citizens from other areas of the country, it is helpful that almost everyone in the country speaks the Krio language. The English language is spoken by teachers and students, the federal government and their agencies as well as news reports on television and in the newspapers.
