Damascus, on the other hand, is the largest city and is also the capital of Syria. It has an area of 105 square kilometers with a total population of more than 1 million people.

It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 with the official name of Ancient City of Damascus in the Arab States region. Although Damascus has a lot of potential in terms of tourism, the current civil war has obstructed the area to be one of the greatest tourist spots in the world.
