The largest state park in Alaska is the Wood-Tikchik State Park. There are actually only two state parks located in Alaska. The other one is the Lake Aleknagik State Recreation Site. The Wood-Tikchik State Park covers over a million acres of land or over 6,000 kilometers. This would be equal to the size of Delaware. Dillingham is situation south of this state park.

A lot of the land that is in this state park would be considered remote and wild. However, salmon can be caught in the rivers of the park. Many people come out to the state park to do serious fishing as well as hunt animals like moose, bear and caribou. Many people who live around the state park fish in the rivers in order to eat.
