Solar declination is the term meaning that position of the sun. Someone can determine the solar declination using coordinates. In order to locate the sun in the sky, you must do a few steps including the ecliptic, equatorial and horizontal coordinate systems. To calculate the solar declination, you will need the location of interest and the analemma point. Coordinates are usually needed in finding a location.

An analemma is a picture which depicts the places a sun can be in the sky. This would happen over three hundred sixty five days for a certain period of time of the day. Using these two numbers and putting it into the formula: SD = 90 – (LI+/-AP), the solar declination can be found.
