It is difficult to imagine how large Earth is. However, Earth does have a diameter to measure. It is 7,898 miles long if you measured it vertically. If you took a tape measure and measured it all the way around the equator, it would be over 24,000 miles long. To calculate the length of time it would take to walk the diameter of the Earth, it would take quite a long time.

The average person can walk about one mile per twenty minutes. At this rate, it would take about 24,000 hours or 1,000 days. The Earth is quite big and is the 5th biggest planet in the Milky Way. The radius of the Earth is a little less than 4,000 miles.
