Message direct algorithm (MDA) is a commonly used hash algorithm in encryption. It offers 128 – bit hash. The MD 5 is the latest version that was first published in April 1992.

It was created by Ronald Rivest to replace an earlier hash function MD 4. The 128 – bit hashes are represented as a sequence of 32 hexadecimal digits.

The Secure Hash Algorithm 2 (SHA – 2) is a set of hash functions. It offers a hash function of SHA- 256 bit and SHA – 512.
