It helps lower cholesterol, reduces the risk of heart disease. It reduces the risk of breast cancer. It helps stop cellular damage that can lead to cancer.

Even though olive oil is best known for protecting the heart and helps lower cholesterol, studies shown that it play a role in protecting the breasts as well. Recent study of more than 2,300 woman done by harvard school of public health found that women who used olive oil more than once a day had over 40% lower risks of breast cancer compared to those who used it less often. Scientists not certain what accounts for this apparent protective effect. Olive oil is rich in natural vitamin e, which has been shown to stop cellular damage that can lead to cancer. And same polynols that help prevent free radicals from damaging the heart play a role in preventing cancer as well.
