Prokaryotic cells have no membrane around their nuclear material; eukaryotic cells do.
Prokaryotic cells were the only form of life on earth for millions of years until eukaryotic cells came into existence through the process of evolution.

There are other differences between a eukaryotic and prokaryotic cell

1. A eukaryotic cell has a nucleus present while a prokaryotic cell has no nucleus.

2. A eukaryotic cell type is multicellular while a prokaryotic cell is unicellular.

3. A eukaryotic cell has a lysosome, cytoskeleton, mitochondria, and endoplasmic reticulum while in a prokaryotic cell all these are absent.

4. A eukaryotic cell is present in animals and plant while a prokaryotic cell is present in bacteria and archaea.

There are some people who become confused about the difference of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Prokaryotic smells are known to be smaller. They also do not have any nucleus. This is something that eukaryotic cells have. One major difference between these two types of cells is letter C. The answer is that prokaryotic cells have no membranes about their nuclear material but eukaryotic cells have membranes.

These two cells can be checked through the microscope and they will look different from each other. Take note that prokaryotic means “before a nucleus.” This is exactly what this cell is. This is a cell because it has a nucleus and when it forms a nucleus, it becomes a eukaryotic cell.
